Ribosome dynamics

70S ribosome is the macro-complex (MW 2.3 MDa) composed of 55 proteins and three rRNAs.
X-ray crystallography and cryo-electron microscopy succeed the movement by comparing static structures, however it is difficult to detect the dynamics of each protein in solution because of the molecular size. In 2006, We reported the new approach using mass spectrometry and H/D exchange, which showed information of dynamics of their 52 proteins on a spectrum.
